About ALPINNO GmbH

ALPINNO GmbH is a Swiss consulting and technology company for organisations where innovation, technology and intellectual property are strategic. It helps founders, leaders and specialist teams apply AI, data, automation and agile methods to create and execute valuable innovation.

Typical clients include startups, scale-ups, technology-intensive SMEs and lean R&D, innovation or PMO teams within larger organisations.

Pier Paolo Monticone established Monticone Consulting in 2021, building a commercial track record in AI transformation, AI-assisted data-driven innovation, intellectual-property creation and workflows, and agile execution across R&D and new-product development. In 2025, ALPINNO GmbH was incorporated to scale this work and extend the established consulting model with proprietary software, licensing and deployment through AIdea™.

Consulting, training and coaching, and hands-on implementation remain core ALPINNO services. AIdea™ is both the platform ALPINNO uses internally to deliver AI-assisted, data-driven innovation projects and a product that can be deployed and licensed for client teams. Services and software can be engaged independently or combined according to the client's objectives, capabilities, data requirements and technology environment.

The vision is to enable R&D and innovation teams to apply a proven, human-led invention process with greater speed, lower effort, stronger quality and full traceability.

AIdea™: the AI-assisted, data-driven innovation and invention platform

AIdea™ guides expert teams through a structured, flexible and iterative innovation workflow. It combines corporate knowledge, AIdea™-curated knowledge and public intelligence, including patents, scientific publications and selected web sources, to create evidence-grounded opportunities, ideas, concepts, inventions and invention disclosures.

A setup phase establishes the innovation brief, data sources, methods and governance. Teams then work through focused innovation sprints, moving iteratively between evidence, exploration, concept development, invention capture and review.

Pier Paolo Monticone, founder and Managing Director of ALPINNO GmbH, is an innovation and transformation executive focused on practical AI adoption, AI-assisted data-driven innovation, IP creation and agile execution across R&D and new-product development.

  • 15+ years of leadership in innovation, R&D, product development and programme management across medical devices, AI and high-tech environments.
  • Former Head of the AI-Assisted Data-Driven Innovation Lab at JTI.
  • Former Head of R&D at CorWave, where he scaled the R&D organisation and delivered technical milestones supporting major funding rounds.
  • Named inventor on 260+ published patent documents and invited speaker at 20+ international conferences.
  • PhD in Electronics Engineering, MAS in Management, Technology and Economics from ETH Zurich, and recognised project-management, product-owner and Agile facilitation certifications.
  • Swiss and Italian; works in English, Italian, German and French.
